Lesson 11 - Compare the Word

• Take all your notes and prayerfully submit them to the Lord.
• Ask His blessing upon your work in Bible study and ask Him to lead you to the truth.
• Look at other versions of the text (King James Version, New International Version, New American Standard Bible, etc.) Are there new conclusions you can make having come this far in your study?
• Compare differences and seek to understand how these differences relate to each other. Why does a translator use a different word or words to describe the same thing or event? Check word meanings from each translation or version (a good concordance will help here as well as a good lexicon and Bible dictionary).

Some of these steps you have done in earlier lessons.  Understand that learning the truth in the Scriptures is much like, to use a popular TV reference, a Crime Scene Investigation.  Look, study, think, reason, look some more, think, find more clues, check references, ask questions, think some more, look for more evidence, use your investigatory tools, and Pray - Pray - Pray. The truth will be found in the evidence placed into the Scriptures.  God is a God who wishes to be known - not unknown, found - not hidden, revealed - not transcendent. He WANTS to know YOU, and He WANTS YOU to know HIM.
