Dr. Slavin, and outstanding teacher and Bible expositor, was a graduate of Philadelphia College of Bible and the Reformed Episcopal Seminary. He was ordained into the Baptist ministry in 1943 and served pastorates in National Park and Maple Shade, N.J. and the Faith Community Church in Roselyn, Pa., and the Highland Park Baptist Church in Southfield, Michigan. Dr. Slavin's ministry included Evangelism, Bible teaching and conference work. He traveled in South America, Europe, Asia and other parts of the world.

Few men have all the abilities necessary to understand deep Biblical truths, communicate them to others, and produce a change in their lives. Rev. George Slavin speaker at the 1971 Spiritual Life Conference is one of them. Although in his "Spiritual workshop" he cut deeply into the lives of those attending, his humor and love created an eager desire to change. There was a very real proof of God's abilities working through Pastor Slavin. A day of prayer, a communion service, and Pastor's messages so highlighted the week that students shared their renewed faith to all around.

Dr. Slavin died unexpectedly in March 1978 after a short illness.
