"How To Glorify God"

I. Glorify God (Command)
  A. What is God's Glory ?
    1. Intrinsic to God - His glory is the composite of His attributes
    2. Given to God - We glorify Him when we give testimony to God before the eyes of the world
  B. Why do we glorify God?
    1. He made us (Psalm 100:3; Romans 11:36)
    2. He made us to glorify (Proverbs 16:4)
    3. He judges those who don't glorify Him (Romans 1:18; Jeremiah 13:15-17; Revelation 14:6-7)
  C. How do we give God glory?
    1. Aim at His glory
      a. by not worshiping yourself (Matthew 6:1-2)
      b. by preferring Him above all else (Exodus 32)
      c. by being content to do His will (John 21)
      d. by suffering when He suffers (Psalm 69:9)
    2. Receive Jesus Christ (Phil 2:9-11)
    3. Confess our sins
      a. The teaching - when we confess our sin, we exonerate God by taking full responsibility for our actions.

      a. The teaching - unbelief questions God; belief rests in the assurance of His promises.

      a. The teaching - Praise is the verbal recitation of God's wonderful works.

      a. The teaching - We glorify God when we love HIM enough to suffer for Him.

      a. The teaching - If you're content, then you're acknowledging God's sovereignty in your life and that gives Him glory.

      a. The teaching - god is glorified when we praise Him for answers to our prayers.
