-
TYPES AFTER THE TABERNACLE, PRIESTHOOD, AND OFFERINGS
Leviticus 8-27
-
The type of consecration: Lev. 8:1-9:24.
The whole thought of self-consecration is unscriptural and misleading.
We do not consecrate ourselves; we dedicate ourselves, yield ourselves
to our Moses (Christ), who consecrates us. See Scofield note, pp. 135-136
(OSRB-ed).
-
The "strange fire" of Nadab and Abihu, Lev. 10
Substituting self-will for the Word of God, and fleshly expedients for
divine power. (See Scofield, p.138).
-
Israel's food = a contrastive type.
See Acts 10:11-16; Col. 2:20-23; Rom. l4:14-23.
-
Leprosy = type of sin. Lev. 13.
See Scofield note, p. 141.
-
The law of the leper's cleansing, Lev. 14.
Four types:
-
Cleansing through the
gospel, Scofield note, p. 1433
-
Two birds: Christ dead
and raised " " p. l44
-
Earthen vessel: Christ's
humanity " " p. 144
-
Running water: Holy Spirit
" " p. 144
- The Day of Atonement (Yom
Kippur), Lev. 16
See notes on pp. 147-148, Scofield. A wonderful type.
- The feasts of Jehovah
(seven), Lev. 23

TYPES IN JUDGES
Although there are numerous spiritual lessons, and although each
of the judges in general pictures Christ as Deliverer of His people from their
sins (and sins' effects, Mt. l:21), there seems to be but one clear type -- that
of Gideon in Judges 7.
Gideon's pitchers, with torch within, broken at a shout, with
light shining forth picture our fragile earthly vessels (bodies) in which God
now dwells (the glory within), being broken at the "shout" of Christ at His
return, causing the presently hidden glory within us to shine forth, climaxing
God's victory over all enemies, including the final enemy, death. See 2 Cor.
4:7; 5:1; 4:17-18: Col. 1:27; 1 Thes. 4:16; 1 Cor. 15:26, 49.
TYPES IN RUTH (See Scofield)
