The fact of his personality
Personal pronouns are used of
him,
Job 1:8, 12; 2:2, 3, 6; Zech. 3:2; Mt. 4:10; Jn. 8:44
Personal characteristics are
attributed to him,
Mt. 4:1-3; 1 Jn. 3:8; Jn. 8:44; and verses above
His character,
Zech. 3:1; 1 Pet. 5:8; Mt. 13:19, 39; Jn. 8:44; Rev. 12:9; Mt. 6:13; 4:3
He is called Satan (Adversary), Devil (Accuser), Tempter, Wicked One, Enemy,
Apostate, Murderer, a liar, the father of lies, etc.
He is also called an angel of light: 2 Cor. 11:14.
Did God create Satan?
NO! Satan made himself Satan, Isa. 14:13; Ezk. 28:15.
He was Lucifer, Isa. 14:12.
He then rebelled against God and made himself God's adversary (Satan).
NOTE the cause of his fall: He fell through pride (self-exaltation at the
expense of God's glory), 1 Tim. 3:6.
Satan has been positionally cast out of heaven. He will be fully and
actually cast out of heaven in the middle of the tribulation period, Rev.
12:9-10.
The power of Satan
Far greater power than man: Eph. 6:11-12
Satan is king over realm of demons,
Dan. 10:5-6,12-13; Eph. 6:11-12; 2:2; Jn. 12:31; 14:30; 16:11; 2 Cor. 4:4
The unsaved lie in Satan's power. Acts 26:18; 1 Jn. 5:19
Satan can exert vast power, but
only by the permissive will of God, Job 1:10-12
The program of Satan: TO GET WORSHIP FOR HIMSELF
To keep men from getting into proper relationship with God
He blinds the mind of the unbeliever, 2 Cor. 4:4.
He takes away the Word of God, lest it bear fruit, Mk. 4:15; Lk. 8:12.
He imitates and substitutes a false religious system
He sows tares in God's field, Mt. 13:39.
He has his "ministers" to carry on his work, 2 Cor. 11:14-15; Rev. 3:9.
He hinders God's servants, Zech. 3:1; Dan. 10:13; 1 Thes. 2:18
He plans to head up iniquity in a man indwelt by himself, who will be worshipped by all except the elect in the tribulation period, 2 Thes. 2:9-10.
The destiny of Satan
He will be bound during the thousand year Kingdom Reign of Christ, Rev. 20:1-3
He will be released at the close of the thousand years and lead a final rebellion against God, Rev. 20:7-9
He will be cast (forever) into the lake of fire. Rev. 20:10
