  1. THE BIBLICAL VIEW OF THE ORIGIN OF SIN

    1. Sin was anticipated in God's foreknowledge.
Otherwise, why should Christ be spoken of as the Lamb slain from the foundation of the earth (Rev. 13:8). There is a mystery in the Divine permission of sin. Any wishing to examine this further may wish to read Chafer's Systematic Theology, Vol. 2, pp. 229-233.

    2. The first enactment of sin in heaven by Satan and angels (Ezk. 28:1-19; Isa. 14:12-14; 2 Pet. 2:4; Jude 6).

    3. Enactment of sin on earth by a human being (Gen. 2:16-17; 3:1-7).
